Tata Steel Jamshedpur registered wards to get qualification-based jobs

Jamshedpur, April 21: Tata Steel management and Tata Workers Union entered an agreement regarding the employment of all 500 registered employee wards selected through a written exam held on 6th March last.

The agreement was signed by VP (HRM) Atrayee Sanyal, Chief Group HR Zubin Palia, Chief (IR and Rewards) Rahul Dubey, Tata Workers Union president  Sanjeev Choudhary, general secretary Satish Singh and deputy president Shailesh Singh.

Sources said as per the agreement, all selected candidates would be given jobs based on their academic and technical qualifications. In 2010, all the registered wards were recruited at the lowest NS 1 Grade. But this time round, all candidates would be absorbed according to their qualification, sources said.

Sources went on to inform further that the recruitment process would be completed in three stages. In the first year, 175 candidates would be recruited while in the second and third years, 175 and 150 candidates would be recruited respectively. Preference would also be given to the age of candidates during recruitment, sources said.

All degree and diploma holders would join NS Seven Grade after passing training as junior engineer. All ITI and apprentice candidates would join NS Four Grade after one year training. Candidates with no technical degree would undergo basic foundation course and onjob training and join NS One Grade, sources said.
